Natural Ways to Thicken Eyelashes

Women who want to have thicker eyelashes are always checking their fashion magazines and the Internet for the latest products that can help them with this problem. Unfortunately, all of these products have a very heavy price tag which can strain the budget (since these products need to be used for 1 month or more before any improvements can be seen). The irony of this situation is that a woman does not even need to go to the beauty shop to buy eyelash products when there are home remedies for eyelash thickening.

Rather than strain your budget with eyelash thickeners and conditioners that probably won't work on you, follow this procedure to thicken your eyelashes naturally and right in the comfort of your home…

1. Make it a point to regularly groom your eyelashes, the same way as you do with your hair. Use an eyelash brush or comb to brush your lashes two times a day. In the absence of an eyelash brush, you can buy a mascara brush. By brushing your lashes daily, you stimulate eyelash growth and give them a thicker and softer look. For better results, put some drops of Vitamin E oil on the brush and apply it to the lengths of your lashes. The Vitamin E oil prevents eyelash fallout.

2. If you don't have any Vitamin E oil on hand, a good alternative would be Vaseline. Vaseline has long been used by housewives for stimulating both hair and eyelash growth. Same as with Vitamin E oil, put some Vaseline on the lash brush and then apply directly to the eyelashes before going to bed. Rinse it off with warm water when you wake up in the morning. Be careful that the Vaseline does not get into the eyes because it can be irritating.

3. Olive oil is great for stimulating growth and strengthening/conditioning of the eyelashes. Put some drops of olive oil on a cotton ball and dab it gently over your eyelids and the eyelashes. Let it stay for five minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Perform this procedure for 4 weeks or you can extend until you get the results you desire.

4. Never forget to clean your face thoroughly of dirt, oils and makeup, especially in the eyes and eyelashes. Clogged follicles hinder eyelash growth. Use an eye makeup remover or Pond's cold cream. Do not use waterproof mascara because this will only dry and thin your lashes and can be very difficult to remove. It is best to use water-resistant mascara.

5. Take vitamin and mineral supplements to help stimulate greater eyelash growth. Vitamins B, D and E help to strengthen the lashes against environmental factors as well as promote lash growth. Vitamin C can aid in the repair of lashes as well as accord them protection against damaging free radicals.

6. While you are in the process of thickening your lashes, stop using eyelash curlers. These gadgets weaken the eyelash strands, which will lead to breaks or fallouts.
